The Whisperer large bronze sculpture designed by Charles Sykes, UK, created at the request of Lord Montagu in 1911 as an exclusive mascot for his car, an original was made using Eleanor Thorton, the Lord’s personal secretary as a model, who the artist later chose for his most famous work, the Spirit of Ecstacy used on Rolls-Royce motorcars up to this day, this piece was No. 1 of 2 in bronze commissioned by the current Lord Montagu of Beaulieu in the mid-1990’s, and is an enlarged version of the original mascot, featuring a woman in a thin flowing dress with one leg in the air and holding her finger to her lips, signed near her foot, mounted marble base with plaque, 25.5" high, base 10.5" dia., A+ cond.
